We use the linked cash account to settle your trades with Opentrader. The cash accounts are integrated with Opentrader, which allows for a pretty slick trading experience ⚡️
We use approved provider, ANZ - we’ll create an account for you when you sign up to Opentrader.
They speed up trading and settlement
Because the linked cash account is integrated with Opentrader, our system can check your balance before you place a trade. This automatic vetting prevents accidental trades and/or buying stock where you have insufficient funds. Having this pre-trade vetting system also supports straight through processing or direct market access, promoting fast execution.
A linked cash account also allows for real-time settlement on T+2, meaning debits and credits are processed immediately on settlement date. reducing your chances of being charged failed settlement fees.
Can I link my everyday bank account with Opentrader?
We can only link Opentrader accounts to the approved providers:
- ANZ Cashactive Account
- Macquarie Cash Management Account (CMA)
This is because we need a daily file feed from the banks to integrate the account with the Opentrader platform. Banks will only provide this for professional cash account products.
Which linked cash account will you get?
We use approved provider, ANZ - we’ll create an ANZ Cashactive account for you when you sign up to Opentrader. You’ll get an ANZ Cashactive account as default.
Can I link a Macquarie CMA instead? 🔗
If you’d like to use a Macquarie Cash Management Account (CMA), you can let us know and we’ll link that for you instead (please see here for the steps). As long as:
- The Macquarie CMA isn’t linked to another trading account already ✅
- The Macquarie CMA account name matches the Opentrader account name exactly ✅
- If you haven’t got a Macquarie CMA already, you must be currently in Australia to open one ✅
If you have an existing Leveraged Margin Loan Account and would like to use this for trade settlement instead, we can get it linked for you (please see here for the steps).
